[/font][/blockquote]Tell us who you are...Name: Annabelle Marie Colfer.
Age: Sixteen.
Orientation: Questioning.
Affiliation: Student.
Gift: Angelic-Demonic Assessment.
Annabelle is able to "see" the good and evil in people at any given time. It is always changing, every second, which can be a bit confusing. Depending on how someone is feeling or what they are doing, they are more or less Demonic. Someone who is in the midst of cheating on his or her significant other would lean more toward evil, but someone who is preaching about Angels and morals would lean more towards Angelic. The scale is Angel, Demon, and everything in between.

James Colfer met Jennifer Williams in high school, though they didn't pay much attention to each other for the first two years. They dated in their junior and senior years, both not taking it seriously and both cheating on the other. Jennifer got pregnant midway through her senior year. Unsure of who the father was and not wanting to deal with paternity tests and other such confusing nonsense, she told James that it was his baby. James got serious and stuck around through it all. The Pregnancy, the classes, the books, the birth, etc. Some might even say he was more serious than Jennifer throughout the whole ordeal, reminding her about not drinking or smoking, being careful, reading all the books... After hours of labor, a baby girl was born on January Fifteenth. They named their daughter Annabelle, after James' mother. The two never got married and still are not today, but the daughter has regular visitation with both, her father being her main caregiver.
The way Annabelle was raised made her slightly spoiled. Her father gave her everything she ever needed, and her grandmother on her father's side gave her everything she wanted. Rarely did the girl have to do chores or any other unpleasant activities. Used to getting her way, it's almost considered an outrage when she's told she can't have something. Maybe a spoiled brat, but her family loves her all the same. Living with her Grandma Belle and her father for a majority of the time, Annabelle has always had a responsible adult there to help her out when she gets herself into something. Belle Colfer is also Gifted, with the ability to summon Guardian Angels. Annabelle didn't know, but she always had someone watching out for her when her grandmother knew she might need it.
At ten years old, the girl really went rampant with desire for adventure. She could always be found exactly where she wasn't supposed to be. From hands caught in cookie jars to sneaking off the playground and into the woods at the park. Annabelle was a curious young thing and it hasn't stopped growing since. She first found the attic in her house when she was eleven. At twelve, she went into private property with her friends to snoop around in the woods. At thirteen, she found Waterview Crossings (her explorations here never stopped). At fourteen, she tried her first sip of beer, stolen from her father's can while he was in the kitchen. At fifteen, she tried a cigarette, which she didn't find to her liking. Six years later and she hasn't stopped exploring. She's tried different types of drugs and alcohol when she's been offered as well as never turning down a chance at exploration. The teen never got addicted to alcohol or drugs. Probably because she senses the Angelic-Demonic meter inside herself and it's uncomfortable to get too far to an extreme on either end.
By having a car and going where she wants, when she wants, the teenage girl started dating much more. Annabelle had been on dates before, but it really took off when she was able to drive herself. Her boyfriends didn't usually last long. She started to question her sexuality when her best friend, a girl, kissed her. Annabelle still hasn't identified herself with any sexuality, merely going with the motto that whatever happens, happens, if only as a means to avoid deciding. Though she's never had sex, it doesn't mean she's completely innocent on the matter, either. She's been offered, but refused for some reason beyond even her own thought. There were many reasons she might have turned it down, but more than anything, it was probably out of respect for her father and grandmother.
All of this may seem like the girl doesn't have any endearing qualities, but that's false. Annabelle is very loving of her family and her pets. She'll defend her grandmother and father to the death. Though her mother might not be the best role model or the most responsible, the teenager will not let anyone say anything bad about her. Annabelle takes care of her pets lovingly and talks to them every day as though they are human. She always has. She got her first hamster when she was six and played with it every day until it died when she was twelve. She still sleeps with a teddy bear every night and loves to wear her boyfriends' jackets. Annabelle is good with small children and loves babysitting them. Many days since she was thirteen were spent across the street, babysitting the Koehl kids. She knows how to have fun in innocent ways and have an imagination.
Annabelle's powers manifested around when she entered puberty at thirteen. It wasn't obvious at first, as she'd assumed that the feeling was just an intuition by reading someone's facial expressions or body language. It wasn't until she went to church for the first time since she was young that she started to get a headache from the meters leaning too far to the Angelic extreme. Annabelle's head began to pound and she felt nauseous enough to have to run out and get fresh air. She wasn't sure why this had happened, but she knew it wasn't normal. Soon after she got away from all the Angelic and Holy influences, her head stopped hurting and she was back to normal. She ignored it for a time, brushing it off as a regular sickness.
Later that week, Annabelle had been with her friends at the mall. It wasn't abnormal for her friends or even herself to take something from a store without paying for it, so when she slipped something into her pocket and the same uncomfortable pounding came back, it alarmed her. It was just like when she'd been at church, only negative and stronger, as it was inside herself, as well. The girl fell to the floor and held her stomach, trying not to vomit. She pulled the nail polish she'd been stealing from her pocket and set it back down. The pain eased a bit and she went home, returning to normal about thirty minutes later. Two weeks after the first incident, Annabelle had already started putting it together. She didn't know why, but for some reason good and bad affected her more severely than others. The rest was explained when someone came to their door and introduced herself as a recruiter for St. Gertrude Academy.
For the past two and a half years, Annabelle Colfer has been a student at the academy. She's never put much effort into power training, so she still doesn't have a good handle on how to not be in pain when extremes come her way. So far, she hasn't been able to decide whether this really is a gift, or whether some people are right and it's a curse. What kind of gift makes you fall over in pain just by being near someone? The teen girl tries not to think about it too much, because when she does, it makes her fall into an uncharacteristic, self-hating mood that she doesn't enjoy. Instead, she prefers to go one as though she can ignore it. But it's impossible. No matter how hard she tries, she feels everyone's meter. It's especially difficult having a best friend that gets taken over by a demon sometimes, but it's helping her to control it better. She's stopped falling over when an extreme comes about, though it's still painful. Power training for her has come from real life experience, nothing that they could teach in the arena.

Moving to the United States hadn't made Isis and Ra's relationship any less complicated. The brothers that had always been able to share anything with each other, bond over anything, yet never seemed to stop arguing somehow. It seemed that as soon as they started to get along and express interest in the same thing, something else came up that made them disagree and argue until someone walked away. Usually the argument revolved around Isis and who he chose to have sex with. Which was... Well, most people. It had always been a problem for the two. Ra was protective of Isis, very much so. So when Isis came home with someone he'd just barely met, ready to sleep with him or her, it caused a problem. Though when the topic of sex stayed down and they were doing something that they could do together, they got along quite well.
It was in an attempt for a fun day together that Isis had asked if her brother would go shopping with her. Not because Ra was oh-so fashion savvy, but because he kept her from buying things that looked trashy and it would be fun to just spend the day together. So the two walked into the mall together for bonding time. The mall didn't have a huge amount of stores, but it was enough for her to find some clothes she'd wear. There was also a Starbucks and a food court that she was sure they'd be in at some point in the day. Isis was in female form for the day, since it was much easier to buy girl's clothes as a female instead of two males buying girl clothes. She wore a flowing dress with a belt and sandals. The dress was completely non-revealing for Ra's sake. He might have a heart attack if he saw people looking at her because of her revealing state of dress. She looked up at her brother with an odd sparkle in her eyes before looking around and walking toward a bench near a gumball machine. "So, coffee, lunch, or shopping first?"
Sitting down, she looked at her brother innocently. Isis wondered how much he really hated going shopping with her. Sure, he acted like he was perfectly fine with it, but was he really? Did he really like watching her pull out clothes she liked, waiting for her to try them on, and need to express his opinion on each and every one of the options? She didn't know, but appreciated that he was willing to do it when she asked. Because that was the type of big brother he was. Protective, caring, loving... Ra always provided for the needs of his little siblings and he always made sure they weren't being treated badly by anyone, ever. Willing to do things he might not like to please his family. Always a perfect gentleman. Isis, in a way, admired his brother, not that she'd ever admit it to anyone.
