[/font][/blockquote]Tell us who you are...Name: Eloise Marigold Standen.AKA: Ellie, E.S.
Age: Fifteen.
Orientation: Heterosexual.
Affiliation: Student.
Gift: Spirit Seeing and Spirit Summoning
Ellie is able to see any and all spirits that are in the same area as she at the time. She can speak to them and they can speak to her. Her Summoning is very limited, though. The only spirits she is able to summon are those she knew when they were alive or those that she's had extensive contact with - and usually it doesn't work. Usually when she summons, it's accidental. Intentionally summoning takes a lot of effort, making her tired and sometimes nauseous. Having long conversations with spirits exhausts her often and occasionally gives her a headache. Passing through spirits makes that part of her body tingle before numbing itself whilst in "contact."
Play-By: Lilly CollinsMay I ask your story...?
Eloise was born on October 31st to Charles and Janette Standen. Janette named her daughter Eloise Marigold, believing it to be a beautiful name. Knowing that they were a poor family, the mother knew that her daughter needed to have some beauty in the world when all else went wrong, even if the beauty was only her name. Neither parent made much money and had lived in a small apartment since they'd gotten married.
The family scraped by with what they had in the apartment with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. Without much money, Ellie has learned to try to be grateful for what she has. Though she might take this to extremes and give too much for others. Often times she'd skip meals to help her family save money on groceries and not buy new clothes until previous ones fell apart to the point that they weren't able to be worn any longer. She was only five years old when she started listening to conversations between her parents about money. Every year for Christmas and her birthday, Ellie would swear that she had everything she could want and didn't want anything else. Years of so much unhappiness - fake happiness - has had possibly ruining effects on the young girl. She lacks social skills and prefers to stay alone. She gets angry when others don't realize how lucky they are to have what they do. The way Eloise grew up gave her many positive and negative personality traits.
When the small girl was six, another family member came into the picture. Gregory Marshall Standen was born on March 25th. Instead of moving into a bigger apartment, the family was forced to move into a smaller, taking out the second room. Gregory and Ellie shared a bedroom while their parents slept on a fold out couch in the living room. Eloise has always been very protective of her baby brother, giving up whatever she can to make his life better. She became quite nosy when she was seven. The girl would snoop through her parents' documents and listen in on phone calls they'd have in other rooms. Having another mouth to feed was difficult on the family, and the young girl knew it. She's stressed about it since she was young, and it has had terrible effects. Some might say Eloise is anorexic if they saw the amount she eats. Or, doesn't eat, rather. She ate two meals a day starting when she was eight, and cut down to one meal a day at eleven. She continues to hope that the money saved on groceries has helped the family in some way. She also sold anything she got that she didn't need for living for any amount of money she could get for it. Later on, Ellie would sneak the money she made into her mother's purse.
When the young girl was eleven, she saw her first ghost. She believed herself to be going crazy when her arm passed through that of a man in the park. This was also the first time she self harmed, though it wasn't something she was conscious of at first. Eloise's harm started with merely scratching herself. Through the years it escalated to biting, to cutting. The girl has worked herself hard to stop cutting since she met the ghost Timothy during her second year at St. Gertrude. She still gets urges every once in awhile, but for the most part she's gone back down to biting and scratching.
A week after seeing her first ghost, a recruiter for St. Gertrude Academy knocked on the apartment door. She introduced herself and explained why Ellie could see things that others couldn't. This hardly reassured her, merely making herself think that she was going to a mental institution in disguise. That view changed when she got to the school though. She had many conversations with ghosts of past students there. Most reassured her that she wasn't crazy, while the more mischievous told her that she was. At the beginning of the year, she spoke to a ghost she'd seen around before. He introduced himself as Timothy Brown. He'd died at the school many years past when he'd tried to summon a Demon and it got loose. Eloise didn't know much more than that of his story, as he didn't like to talk about his death much. Since their first meeting, they've become quite an odd pair of close friends, but friends all the same.
Ironically enough, Eloise is almost able to forget that she's a Spirit Seer when talking to Timothy, though he's a spirit himself. She finds herself being able to forget about her stresses and worries at home a lot of the times whens he is with him. He saw her cuts late into her second year and has since been checking every day to make sure new don't show up. Knowing that someone is there that can care for her and keep her safe comforts Ellie, even if Timothy is dead. He comes with her on her weekend visits home and has been helping her job searching for the day she turns sixteen. Though being around him so much exhausts her, she doesn't mind. Having a best friend is worth the need for extra sleep.
For the past four years, she's learned almost nothing. Her days are preoccupied with job hunting, talking to Timothy, calling home, visiting home, and meetings with the principal about lowering payments for the school. Ellie has little to no time to study amongst other things, and she's finding that she doesn't want to learn how to block out the ghosts. While many times they are the cause of her sadness, a few make her feel better and she would prefer to be able to see them whenever they want to see her.
